We are the victorious Hispanic blood; we are also the victorious Indigenous blood of those who fought to destroy the dominant, enslaving Aztec imperialism (which offered thousands of victims to its idols and practiced cannibalism), and who, with the help of the Castilians, succeeded in throwing off the yoke under which they suffered and which claimed so many lives.
Our Homeland is a nation founded upon a triumph, not upon a defeat, as falsified history deceptively teaches. Mexico was not the Aztec Empire. Before the arrival of the Spaniards, there was no nation, but a collection of different peoples dominated and enslaved by that imperialism. Our Homeland is the nation born of the union between victorious Indigenous peoples of MULTIPLE ETHNIC GROUPS and victorious Spaniards. The Hispanics did not wipe out the native peoples of America, as the English did, but formed families with them. We are the fusion of Hispanic blood and Indigenous blood.
Anyone who disowns his true origins has repudiated his heritage or has been deceived by the falsification of history undertaken by Mexico's enemies, who want to make us believe, in order to undermine our confidence and dominate us, that we come solely and exclusively from one people—the Aztecs—and were born of a defeat. Those who repudiate their heritage ought to demonstrate, through DNA testing, that they themselves are genetically one hundred percent descended from the Aztecs, change their surnames and stop speaking Spanish, or else stop manipulating history. Our true History, with all its light and shadow, is more complex than the official, unhistorical, Manichaean narrative, but its genesis was undoubtedly a great victory born of a great alliance.
