MODESTY DOES NOT HIDE BEAUTY; ON THE CONTRARY, IT PRESERVES AND ENHANCES IT
MODESTY DOES NOT HIDE BEAUTY; ON THE CONTRARY, IT PRESERVES AND ENHANCES IT
A woman who displays herself half-naked on the beach, or dresses in scanty, provocative clothing before the public gaze, does not bear witness to love for herself; rather, she cries out, in silent desperation, for fleeting attention. In her desire to win the passing admiration of frivolous men, she ends up stripping herself of her own dignity.
Very different is the beauty of modesty, which does not extinguish feminine radiance, but safeguards it as a treasure and enhances it with mystery and purity.
A modest and chaste woman is like a sealed garden: revered and esteemed by men of noble heart, who know how to recognize in her the true and enduring worth of the feminine.
